i just installed linux to replace windows, ill set up ioquake3 and check it out. i don't really know any quake 3 maps though as ive only really played quake 1 and quake live. what gametype is this? if ffa or clan arena, i want to see the edge if its been ported, nobody ever plays it in quake live unless you are in a low elo server unfortunately

Did you try clearing your .q3a settings? I'm genuinely confused as fuck as to why it's not working. It doesn't help that my router/modem is translating a wan address to lan (i think)

just leave the map files, those are easy to find with google if the server asks for them.
