What's the best way to play Castlevania: Rondo of Blood? I got the original game to work on a pcengine emulator, but the patcher for the english version won't work for whatever reason. Is the PSP one any good?

Original Rondo has to be unlocked first before you can play it in the PSP Dracula X Chronicles, just a reminder if you don't want to play the remake.
SNES > Remake > Original
Does it have to be in english? It's not like the plot matters.

The PSP port is fine. You have to play through a bit of the remake to unlock it, but the remake's well worth playing anyway. I consider it superior to the original.
I played it on the Wii's virtual console and it was excellent.
lmao what the fuck is a rondo come on konami

"Whatever reason" is that you don't know how to patch.
What files do you have? bin/cue iso/mp3 ?

I tried to use binchunker, but it will appear in my Taskbar and not on my desktop. I've never seen software that does this.

It would spoil a bit of the original's fun by playing the remake first though. They changed some stuff that here and there, finding those were fun.
Fuck changing the boss going closer to foreground to some generic cutscenes though. That shit was awesome and hype as fuck in Rondo. Oh also Maria's redesign is stupid.
If you're playing on a CRT, Wii.
If you want to play on PSP, the one on Dracula X Chronicles is fine, the resolution is a bit stretched and not the original PCE one, but it's almost unnoticeable and not really bad (it's similar to how SOTN on Saturn is a bit wider than the PS1 version).
The remake is also pretty good because of the extra content.

It's a kind of musical piece, like an Aria (of sorrow).

you won't lose anything by playing in japanese
all interface is in english anyway
most important is to get the music working
