> you will never again run into the young friendly guy at your local chinese food place who speaks almost no english and find out he's a SF2 master and then have him drive you and your friends home so you can use your bus fare to play more games

feels bad man

>arcade slowly replaces your favorite games for shitty mobile to cade games.
Fuck it mane, I'm gonna make a drive in / arcade when I get done with school
>>
>>3678827
>theater arcade
>tons of classic action, rhythm, puzzle and racing games
>always went hours before the movie just to play the games with friends when I was younger
>go there recently, first time in ages
>everything is a mobile game or some stacker variant

Truly we live in the darkest of times
>>
>have two "admission for free play" retro arcades near me
>plus a bowling alley with 6 pinball machines
>plus a coin arcade with a bunch of 90s fighting games
>plus Round 1

I think I'll be fine.
>>
>>3678841
fucking where?
>>
>>3678846
LA. Round 1 is starting to open up a bunch of locations across the US though. I highly recommend you vist one if you can.
>>
>>3678848
went to the one in new braunfels, tx, and it was great, and it's probably one of the weaker ones. i pray that they will bless houston someday soon
actually htown has a lot of cool retro opportunities that i'm only starting to explore. but i need to blow money on ufo catchers and rhythm games too.
>>

It did though. There are plenty of bars around me that have 80s and 90s video games and craft beer.

My movie theater also has video games, so you are actually completely wrong.
>>
I live in a tiny arse town in Ohio and we have 2 full arcades and a third scheduled to open this spring, as well as random machines in bars, bowling alleys, and at both theatres. Yer daft mate.
>>

I live in Montana. We've got darts and, if you're really lucky, Golden Tee.

I've been trying to convince a casino owner I do computer stuff for to lend me money to open a barcade.
>>
>went to go see a movie with friends recently
>oh hey they have a (small) arcade now in the foyer now let's play some games before the movie starts
>always crapping on about Daytona to my friends and they finally get to try it
>all of the monitors are oversaturated or out of spec, one of my friends shifters didn't work
>o-kay let's play time crisis 2 then
>both guns had broken recoil (of course) the monitors were oversaturated or over sharpened, there was no sound at all etc.
It's just to hard to get someone to maintain these things anymore. Movie theatres and business owners want to make a quick buck but have the time them machines don't even work or are sub-par.

The reading arcade is a dump, man
>>

>the arcade scene will never come back
Although it will never be like it once was, the arcade scene is very active. It's just in people's basements now instead of brick and mortar locations.

In Great Falls, we had a place called Galaxy Games that closed down just this year, lasted for 16 years.

>still have coins
>tfw I will never play Area 51 on an arcade cabinet again, unless I go to Ebay

Fuck, they even had Ocean Hunter, Silent Scope 2, and DDR Extreme.
>>
>>3678684
Nah, you're just unlucky enough to live in a place without a retrocede. There's one in my town with most of the classics, as well as some 4-player greats like TMNT, Simpsons, and X-Men, too. They also have air-hockey, a pool table in the back, and several large TV's with couches set up for you to bring your own consoles and have a tourney with friends.

Oh, also byob, and everything is set to free play (pay per hour). I've even taken girls on dates there. Place is fuggin' great!
