Unless you're using HD Retrovisions component cables or you made your own, you're using GameCube component cables on a SNES (10000:1) or you're calling composite cables component (2:1).

Component or composite?

Component needs to be converted to D-terminal (back) which is the Japanese equivalent.

Composite is the yellow for video up front. There should be a button on the remote towards the upper right with the inputs "video" should be the composite one.

If you are going RGB-SCART (Euro SCART), be sure to get the converter cable for Euro-SCART into the mini-DIN up front.

Did you changed the video input to video? do you get just the blue screen or blue screen + the "no signal" message?.

Take a pic of the cabling because something is amiss

never mind I fixed it, but does anyone have any recommendations for scaling options? the game looks worse going through the framemeister then just going through the tv.

He explains how to tune up the display very well, but if you want to get the best results you must use SCART/RGB, mod the console if you must, it's totally worth it.
