JVC TM-A101G Broadcast monitor. Can do composite only. Worth it for $20?
She said it was brand new in their storeroom, they never used it, and no one wanted it for their kids. (probably because of the bnc connectors.)

I'd say so. Even if you decide not to keep it, you could easily flip it for double that.
>>3664905
also worth noting it does 16x9 easily, and can work with either PAL or NTSC. It's a 10' monitor, but that's good for og xbox lan matches.

I hope the screen is just foggy, because of not, that's some pretty bad pixel bleed

For 20 bucks I would definitely take the gamble. A PVM with composite only will still look better than a regular CRT with composite only. That being said, a consumer crt with component may outperform this thing but I never did any comparisons myself so I wouldn't know.
>composite only
>10 inches
It's worth it only if you buy it, sell it on ebay for 80 dollars of profit, and then buy a real PVM.

>sell it on ebay for 80 dollars
a non-sony pvm that's composite only?
yeah, that'll go for 30 tops on ebay friendo

>composite only. Worth it for $20?
Absofuckinglutely not.
If no one wants it then why pay $20?
Offer 10. It still will be be better than a similarly sized consumer tv, but consumer TVs if a larger size could also offer s video which is much better. You are likely going to be the only person interested in it.
Don't go out of your way for this monitor. It was meant for security purposes and really isn't going to be THAT impressive.

Nah some fucktard from the CRT general will buy it.

I talked her into two of them for $30. Gonna email her tomorrow and ask for both for $20. I gotta drive about 6 miles away to pick them up.

You could get two raspnerry pi's and network them together for multiplayer. Since that is limited to composite as well, though I hear the pi's analog output it is actually slightly more limited beyond just being composite. But then, I doubt there's too many open source games that would play well with a gamepad.
On a related note, a monitor like that *appears* really great for vertical oriented games, being zero hassle to rotate, assuming that doing so wouldn't block any important heat exhaust.
My Bosch security monitor can at least do s-video. And I got it for what OP is paying. Pick up a consumer tv from the street.

What is that thing like? How big is it, and what is it like from the side? Is it also weirdly rectangularly-prismatic?
>>3664902
I wouldn't if it isn't at least 14" and has svid, but thats me.
>>3664902
nope
get at least y/c and 13"+. a good consumer set is better than that old SECURITY monitor
>>3669760
It's 19 inches. I don't know what you mean by prismatic.
>>3669760
The model is:
bosch ltc 2919/90
>>3669835
rectangularly, maybe-cubic, though I guess those more properly get described as rackmountable
I'm assuming these monitor types are generally cubic at about 20 or 22 inches, elongated below, and wide-ish at higher sizes.

Hey, that all depends on how you sell it! Try and picture it, we could make tiny 10" monitoring monitors the next big thing! Make a big deal about the weight, tell people that the magnatron firing gets really distorted if it has to bend intensely, such sorts of stuff!
