The First Funky Fighter.
In this game you'll massacre sharks and crocodile men with your bare hands.
Possibly one of the raddest games ever.

No. Maybe first arcade FPS.

And not even the first; Sega's Line of Fire did the same in 1989. And I'm sure others did it way earlier too.

Vertexer has methods that simply haven't been figured out for a way of emulating yet.

Aqua Rush, a very unique and cool puzzle game from Namco. Blocks move down the screen, and you move a 3-wide block left and right. Pressing one of the 3 buttons will add a block to the left/center/right of your piece, allowing you to break through the descending blocks. It's hard to explain, but it's incredibly fun, definitely give it a try.

Shou is kind of a piece of shit when it comes to *other* people trying to preserve stuff though, considering I have it on good authority he tried to sic his japanese buddy lawyers on the guys who dumped the NESICAxLive stuff but whatever if he wants all the glory to himself then so be it.
>>3688141
>>3694551
It's not that hard to explain anon, in Spanish snowboarding is still called "surfeando". Surf Planet is a game that's made in Spain by a Spanish arcade game dev using the likeness of famous Spanish "surfers" and featuring licensed music from Subterfuge (a Spanish indie label) and it's actually a pretty sick game despite utilizing no buttons, I highly recommend playing it along with Gaelco's other 2 games Radikal Bikers and Speed Up (the latter being a ridge racer type game with a unique "last racer gets left out" style gameplay)
Another mildly interesting thing to note is that they also actually developed their own 3D hardware, the only game company outside of America and Japan to do so.
>>3723775
>had the Atari 2600 version of this as a kid

>>3738191
It's a beat em up, but rather than taking place on a traditional scrolling path, it takes place on grids of floating rocks. You have infinite health and the only way to die is by falling down. Despite that, it is still incredible hard.
Since the vast majority of /vr/ Gundam games are painfully mediocre, Cybattler works wonderfully as a substitute. Has just about everything, like a beam saber, beam shield and even a mega bazooka launcher for one stage!
Pretty much a Gunstar Heroes clone, but it adds fighting game-esque special moves to your arsenal. It's also a bosh rush like Alien Soldier.
>>3727371
that's some deep cut info, thanks anon!
Was there ever a violent 2D fighting game called Thrill Kill (I'm not thinking of the unreleased PlayStation game) or something like that? I specifically remember playing such a game in an arcade when I was a kid, but I can't find it on the internet. All I remember is that my character got his head chopped off at the end, and I think his head was missing in a post-game portrait.
>>3707782

>>3746547
Combat racer by Sega. Also Model 2.
>>3746547
Also on Model 2, another great driving game from Jaleco, Super GT 24h.
Very similar to Ridge Racer, with a simple drifting system, long and short course variations, and day/night transitions that change when coming out of tunnels.
Not that obscure, but definitely a great racing game.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJES54_4go0
Anyone else ever play Dangerous Curves from Taito?
I only ever saw it once, about 15 years ago. As you can see, it's a driving game where you can race either a car or a motorcycle. Judging by the few pictures and videos I could find of it, It's very obscure.

Motor Raid is a fucking sexy game, futuristic cyberpunk road rash at a smooth 60 frames a second
>>3741189

>>3738347
No problem chum!
I dunno if it was recommended yet but I absolutely recommend you all play Biomechanical Toy, a metal slug style side scrolling shooter with awesome Amiga graphics (it was made by Zeus software, previously known for Risky Woods on Amiga). Really sick game and definitely in my top 5 favorite shooters

Theres also a sequel mushihimetama which expands on the idea really nicely and adds boss fights.

Tatakae!! Big Fighter got emulated on MAME only a month ago, and it's a fucking great shmup. Wide stages, cool graphics, and you play a transformable mecha ship that has full movement. It's also relatively easy which is either a plus or a minus depending on how you view it.

>>3761437
Damn. This is pretty neat. Its does look quite forgiving though
Outfoxies is like an early 2D SMASH game. You fight your enemy in a huge area with realistic weaponry while trying to not get yourself killed in the process. Despite lacking the Nintendo flavor and being more realistic in style it is still extremely wacky, with playable characters including a sinister professor in a mechanical wheelchair and a monkey in a tuxedo suit. It was never ported to any consoles, quite a shame since it seems more appropriate as a home console game than an arcade game.

Yet they fucking love Duck Game which is just Outfoxies with one shot kills, less personality, and less depth.
It hurts how underappreciated this game is. It deserved a 5th gen console port, at least. It's fun to play SP, but until robot waifus with game learning skills come around I'll never play it with anyone.
