What's the most convenient way to convert a VGA output from a laptop into component/composite/s-video? I want to run emulators on my CRT.

These things do a pretty good job
Get a VGA CRT

I bought one of these for s-video -> VGA but the opposite doesn't work. The VGA in is just for overscan fixes or something.
You can buy the cables/boxes on ebay. Do some research before you post.

>most convenient
A cheap shitty box bought off ebay that outputs a shitty blurry interlaced video signal with massive lag.
You sure you asked the right question?

I copped that exact thing. Man those things are fucking trash. It worked but oh man composite video looks like shit. I accidentally brained it when I plugged 12v into it, why didn't they just put usb on it if it's 5v?

i have one and i prefer lcd wtih shaders, it's only good for watching really old anime like gundam. gaming feels very sluggish, probably input lag.

Triggered?
This is probably THE place to ask about this sort of thing, and look, OP got some pretty good answers. C'mon, dude. This isn't stackoverflow.
A long time ago I used a thing called the averkey Imicro I think. It was ok, but you had to play with it. I really liked it but I was never picky about that kind of thing.

This is a trick question, because the most convenient way is also the worst way. Connecting pcs to crt televisions and connecting consoles to pc monitors actually requires a little bit of effort to get the desired effect.
