I would anti-recommend Lufia because it's one of the shittiest JRPG's I've ever played in my life.

Lufia 2 is ok, but still kind of shit.

I would recommend:
Dragon View (might be known as Drakken 2)
Alcahest (repro/JP only)

and Swat Katz

Not because it's good, because I want someone to suffer.

Spanky's Quest.
You are a monkey that throws bubbles that turn into sport balls when you pop/activate them. The more you bounce the bubble with your head, the bigger the attack. You hate fruits for some reason.
Clunky platformer but easy to master. It has hats, secret levels and a crow that rapes you if you stand doing nothing.

go play Umihara Kawase if you haven't yet
>>
Demon's Crest is really good
X Men: Mutant Apocalypse is pretty good
Despite what people say about it I still think Donkey Kong Country 3 is really good
Spider man and the X men in arcades revenge is an acquired taste but really fucking diffcult
Arcana is a decent dungeon crawler but is kind of slow paced, maybe try Eye of the Beholder instead
There was a Biker Mice From Mars tie in game that was ok if I remember correctly
If you have not played earthworm jim 1 and 2 I would reccomend playing them but a lot of people think the genesis versions are better
The snes version of Drakkhen is not very good so I would recommend the amiga one
Soul Blazer is a Zelda-ey dungeon crawler that I really like
Legend of the Mystical Ninja is a really fun platformer/beatemup mix but has a pain in the ass continue system (32 character long passwords, no saves)
Metal Warriors is just an all around good game with a great vs mode
Pocky and Rocky 1 and 2 are fun little shmup-ey games that are fun co-op
The port of Smash TV is ON POINT
The Toy Story game is a mixed bag but I like it
If you have a super scope then X ZONE is also a solid buy

It's a RPG kinda like Dragon Quest, but it takes place in modern times.
And it's super funny and quirky! At one part of the game you fight these moles and they all say they're the third strongest! LOL!
It's pretty expensive though. I paid over $600 for my copy.

True Lies

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8LFhd6IxhQ

Look at how tight your character control is. You can strafe/dive in any direction and it feels totally intuitive and natural. Also you get multiple guns and can swap between them, only pistol has unlimited bullets. It's also satisfyingly violent and comes with good challenge as you'd want from a game based on a classic Arnie movie.

Great game.

it turns out you don't have to move a block entirely, you can move it half a block. since you can't into japanese i don't know where it tells you this, but you have to hold a button while holding the block and you can more finely move it
and you do need to do that to even beat the first world
>>
>>3655129

Can vouch. I had marathoned the series last year and it cured me out of game fatigue. The only problem it has, being a bit slow in combat, is cured with helps of emulation. This is a phenomenal series. I recommend going 4 - 1 - 2 - 5 - 3 in that order which is how I feel the quality was in increments. Feel free to skip Evolution. Gun Hazard is okay but it has practically nothing to do with the main games. At the very least play FM3, that is a must play game.

Metal Combat - Falcon's Revenge.
1v1 Shooting duels with Mechs. Similar to Punch-Out!!, except you shoot instead of punch/ dodge. Made by Intelligent Systems, and there's nothing else really like it. The first game in the series, Battleclash, is really basic and boring compared to this one.

It is criminal that this was never ported to the Wii / Wii U. Nintendo needed to revive this franchise, but it'll probably never happen now that the Switch isn't using Wiimotes.

Nice to see bande dessinee, but the "sequel" Asterix & Obelix is better. Better graphics, waaay better music and co-op. Still not a great game, but if anyone wants simultaneous coop in a platformer, check out Asterix & Obelix. And maybe BS Shockman.

Yes, after F-Zero imo. /vr/ doesn't seem to like them for some reason.

I have this on cart - it's called Super Pang in Europe. I knew what I was in for because my mate had Pang on his Commodore 64 and it was pretty cool.

Captain Tsubasa games, if you can't play Tecmo World Cup for mega drive - its superior even when being a ripoff (Tsubasa is a long running series starting from manga I believe).

Feda - surprisingly better than shining force.

Kyuuyaku megami tensei - just to see where it all started without playing an MSX/NES version.

Are SNES flashcarts reliable? And if so what's the best one out there for a PAL SNES?

just didn't care for it.

granted this was for the NES, but i would put this game in and just turn it on to hear this.

The first two Top Gear games are still a lot of fun even after all these years. I think the music is the best part about them but gameplay itself was enjoyable as well with the choices you could make for your car and split screen racing.

Mate that's nothing compared to this gem of a game I found called スーパーマリオワールド: スーパーマリオブラザーズ4. It translates to some like "A Geographical Area without finite boundaries of significant intensity that is occupied by one or several マリオ (pronoun so untranslatable), the fourth sibling in a family of male children who are of significant intensity who share the common name マリオ(yeah it repeats and is a bit redundant).
>>
>>3647904
Treasure of the Rudras is a pretty obscure treasure I stumbled across. I like the whole thing where if you die, you can jump to a different main character and play through their campaign...

And the Mantra system is awesome as shit. You mix together phrases and letters in order to make minor modifications to spells- LEF means 'life', and 'IG' means 'fire', so if you find a spell that heals everyone and it's called 'LEFLUS', then you can try out 'IGLUS' to burn everything on the screen. It's charming, and each different spell has a different animation.

But the thing is: The monsters know magic too. I watch a boss cast a certain spell, note what element it's made out of, and scrawl down the mantra for later use. By dissecting the ability's name, I can usually figure out what element it's made out of, and thus what element I need to give myself magic defense against.

But here's my recommendation: Don't look up mantras online. It's a lot more fun to play with it on your own.

The art is pretty good too. It's charming seeing a wizard do a few swift hand motions to cast a spell, or quirky comic relief clumsily almost-dropping his gun every time he fires it. Not sure about the storyline, though- they're not very clear about where you need to go, meaning that I get my ass kicked by level-30 enemies near the start of the game... But it's pretty good.

Fucking why? What is the rhyme or reason for certain SNES games ending up as overpriced as they are? Does the community just pick them at random? There's no way any of them are truly that fucking rare.

I feel like, given the average age of all these "retro gamurz", they'd gravitate more toward the N64. It's got that quirk factor, and also it was prevalent while they were kids.
