GZdoom is best for single player,Zandronum is best for multiplayer.

GZDoom is best if you want gameplay mods and certain TCs. Outside of that, it isn't really necessary.

I prefer PrBoom+ for traditional gameplay and mapsets.

No wonder you didn't post in the general. Try ZDoom and report back, it may be some anomaly caused by graphics drivers.

Oh, and you won't be able to BD on ZDoom. GZDoom only, some maps and mods are because it uses a different renderer.
