Also agree with OP, Sega CD was the shit and looked amazing.

As for the least pleasing ones… I never liked what Sega did starting from Mega Drive 2 to Saturn, with 32X looking the worst to me. They combined both strict angular and irregular curvy shapes to a very weird, clashing effect… N64 was all curves, PS was all perfect angles and circles; but Sega was everything in between and they didn't pull it off well.

I agree, OP, I love seeing chunky retro plastic like that meshed together so well. Something is so pleasing about that tactile feeling of latches locking and pins connecting, and the end result is always a beautiful mecha-keitai looking super-console.
Probably why my favorite things on non-retro consoles were the Game Boy Player and Xbox 360 HDD

The Famicom and the disk system look really nice, and although it sucks, the Jaguar plus CD looks like the Black Bull from F-Zero.

Always liked how the cdx looked. Really dope design. But everything pales in comparison to the original White pc engine. Console is fuckjng beautiful. It fits in your fucking hand!
Looks dope in suitcase form as well.
