I'll take a guess that legitimate stuff is ludicrously expensive and only imported by the trendy nouveau riche while the usual counterfeits are as cheap and plentiful as they were in the '90s.

Eastern europeans -like southamericans- used consoles that were either clones of popular ones -Atari 2600 and NES bootlegs- or consoles that flopped in the US-EU market, and were sold cheaper there just to get rid of them -Like the Atari XE or the Master System-. Of course the famiclones were by far the most popular ones because his low price and amount of games.

About as bad as here in mexico where everyone had fukin bootlegs.

Granted, there were some legit stuff, games like Battle City were popular and i found that it was a JAPAN ONLY TITLE, how about that shit man.
