Why am I so shit at this game? I know it's not that hard

Try not to double jump all the time and use the shield if you suck.
It requires taking your time but also being quick sometimes.

Memorization.

Enemies on this game start attacking you even before you can see them. You must remember the position of every enemy, and attack beforehand with the shuriken.

It really does help to start your attack when the enemy is still offscreen.

Their projectiles are slower than yours, take advantage of this

I'd fire a shuriken while ducking, then stand up just as it was about to reach them and it would hit them

That fucking jump STILL triggers me...I ended up cheating through it with a perfectly timed Mijin jutsu(the suicide AoE blast). Felt so badass pulling it off in midair like that.
