Here's hoping they have the balls to make changes to the story. This game is in a dire need of a rewrite.

By the way, for the uninitiated, the game's original PC port is available in English and can be played on Asenheim:

Yes but the original writer is dead, so that would be hardly appropriate.
Desire already touches on a lot of themes Yu-No does, Yu-No is essentially Desire re-written into a coherent story.

Desire is still different enough that it could stand on its own with some rewrites. For example, they could have shown all therepeats Martina's been through to give us more insight into what she's been going through, and things that were mentioned but never explicitly shown, like the explosion that took Tina's life and "Gustav"'s, or the accident that killed "John", one of Makoto's co-workers. Or rewrite Makoto's route entirely, so it actually contributes to the plot instead of being a poorly written NTR nukige; I'd personally use her route to show shit like the reactor's DNA manipulation abilities, and such and such.
And yeah, Kanno is dead, but I still think they should bring in some competent to salvage the story.
This reminds me, 5pb is actually making a sequel to Kanno's games using Kanno's own notes, believe it or not.
