There's really nothing much to talk about. D is two hours max and mainly consists of FMV sequences of Laura moving room to room. Also buying older games on Steam is a terrible idea 99% of the time because they do nothing to ensure they're actually compatible with modern computers.

You don't "own" physical games either. Only publishers do. There are many countries in which it is even specified in the booklet for video games or DVDs. For instance the "family use" only close, you're not even allowed to share the physical games you "own" to friends. Other times you're not allowed to re-sale it, etc

On topic, D is very much an art game that you will need to appreciate Ito's style to enjoy. If you're unfamiliar, D2 is much more of a "game" and the one I recommend people try first before playing D and Enemy Zero. There's no continuing story or anything despite featuring an identical protagonist.

It's kinda neat. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I paid 5 or 7 buckaroos on PC as opposed to $17 or so for the Saturn port.

I heard authors intentionally made movement video sequences unskippable to make you feel the same way character feels on the same time scale, and it is very unlikely the remake changes that. And it's not like you can change anything else in a pre-rendered FMV game without remaking it from scratch.
