What are some weird games with unusual gameplay (and preferably a creepy atmosphere)?
Pic related is Intelligent Cube.
Also here is Sentinel Returns.

My ex fucking loved this game so I was happy to trade it away in '99 after we broke up but then its value rose considerably and I felt I should try to pick up another copy but I also felt weird like I was being nostalgic for her but then I was checking out a retro budget bundle for completeness and one of the games I wasn't even interested in had been swapped for a copy. Not bad for five bucks.
On topic here are a couple similar unusual Playstation games that also share a creepy halloweeny quality as well

This game is the fucking shit. I forgot the story (if there is one), but I always liked how the game felt like you're trying to help the little dude survive a special kind of hell.

I really like this game, even though I'm not good at puzzle games. It felt like I could figure it out a little more than your average one.

That's a great way to put it, I think there is a story presented in the 'best' ending but it's really weird. IIRC only the demo had silence, and the real game had an orchestral score for the levels. I've come to really wish for a silent full game version, it was so much creepier.
Anyway pic related is Incredible Crisis for PS1, this game is really interesting. it's basically a series of minigames that range from standard difficulty to thumb-breaking, but the concepts and game types are very diverse, and is generally a weird game.

>orchestral score
This was like half the awesomeness of the game. Anyone who hasn't already should download it from khinsider or something.

Yeah on second thought, it's not like I thought it was bad, I actually would like to listen to it again. But there's nothing like the blocks pounding on the floor, followed by "AGAIN!" as the player yells in darkness in complete silence to make the game really eerie.

Creepy is a word used by women to describe a man that is lacking sex appeal.
The word you're looking for is spooky.
>>3581397
spooky is a word used by children who watch scooby doo
>>3581397
Not you again!
Go bait elsewhere Mr Nice Guy
>>3581397
>tries to correct someone on word usage
>passive tense everywhere
>grammatically incorrect use of "that"
>other anon's use of "creepy" was still valid
We should append the rules with a clause regarding completion of grade school.

"Creepy" means something that isn't quite "scary" but isn't cute enough to be "spooky". Both "spooky" and "scary" guys can have sex appeal while "creepy" guys generally do not. Games do not require sex appeal so creepy games can still be fun.I could go on as to how "creepy" girls DO have sex appeal on account of undeniable male/female dichotomies but my post would probably end up deleted

You are a classy gentleman. As far as "unusal gameplay" and "creepy atmosphere" go, Sentinel Returns is basically the purist answer.
>>3581936
Thanks, yeah I emulated it for a bit once, I love how the gameplay seems totally alien and the aesthetics match it.
What happens when you beat the game??
>>3580825
Gotta take a special kind of mouth-breather to throw away all cases and slip their game collection into a cheap-ass sleeve.
>>3582286
My mother wanted me to do this because muh shelf space. I eventually did put them in a shitty sleeve binder, but luckily I stalled on throwing the cases away. Now the discs are back where they belong.
>>3581076
I spent sooo much time to beat Incredible Crisis. That fucking "pour water out of the boat" minigame was excruciating.
>>3582212
I consider this the only "mature" game I've played, as in "Deals with genuinely mature themes" and not "BLOOD GUNZ AND GORE LOLZ"
>>3582286
Most of those games were supposed to be packaged that way. I honestly can't begin to imagine how a valuable Playstation game ended up being stuck in there. Probably by mistake, were I to guess. Then the box wasn't opened for fifteen+ years.
>>3582403
Yeah I forget the exact story, but the level select screen showed a row of alien embryos or something, and to start the level you inject a needle into one and your consciousness goes into it.
Wikipedia says there are 2 endings, one for beating the last level and another for beating all 651(!) levels.

This looks suuuper comfy. Are there any more games with this aesthetic?
>>3582626
Oh yeah and the pic is Illbleed. It's like a horror game, but where you have to detect dangers and photograph dangers before they hurt you to disarm them.

Not sure if this counts, but this game always creeped me out as a kid. The music, the atmosphere, and pretty much every in game object is just eerie. Even today I can't shake that feeling.
>>3581421
No seriously when a male says creepy instead of spooky it sounds just like if he says あたし instead of わたし.
I think if we're going to be retro game enthusiasts we should adopt retro gender norms and not modern SJW rubbish.
>>3580757
Such a great game. Typically I lose interest in puzzle games quickly but IQ hooks me every time I play.

this is the weirdest copypasta ever

>Being too young for "creepy" to be about Creepy Magazine, too old for it to be about creepypasta and being a MRAfag to boot
Haven't played this, but it's pretty unique.

>Pic related is Intelligent Cube.
No, it's Intelligent Qube.
>>3583592
Fun and catchy as fuck.
>>3582947
>getting bent about creepy
>not realizing the word he wants isn't "spooky" it's "eerie."
are you illiterate or something?
>>3585161
Grammar nazi here I can get behind "eerie" having been a better choice to describe the atmosphere of the games ITT than "creepy".
>>3582626
>This looks suuuper comfy. Are there any more games with this aesthetic?
Indeed. it also plays super comfy, try it if you have a chance. I don't think it have any releases besides the Dreamcast and arcade one though.
REZ, on the other side, have plenty of ports for many consoles and pc. Pic related.
