What brand?
I want a snes usb myself, for the d-pad

Wouldn't it be the person who bought a cheap chink ubs n64 clone controller and expected it to work that has zero sensibility.
Get a USB adapter and use an original controller.
I use this. Love it. Except for the fact that pretty much one of the ports doesn't work. The other works perfectly fine. Same shit with my blue playstation controller adapter.

Either a good condition official controller (maybe one of those gamecube-style sticks installed too), or a SuperPad 64 Pro/MakoPad64.
I use my MakoPad personally, but I've got an good condition official controller coming in this week as well, plus a couple Adaptoid adapters (yay for working rumble and memory card mangement)

If you have a soldering iron and some solder you could just touch up the solder points on the circuit board. Mine came in completely non-functional (not even detected by Windows) but a quick touchup fixed it. Mine works flawlessly now.

I got a retrolink USB N64 controller.
It's not prefect, but it works reasonably well.
The only problem is the dpad is kinda finicky.

Buffalo SNES pad is pretty good, and you can get them for cheap off ebay. You could also try original controller with usb-adapter, or if you want bluetooth get the 8bitdo one.
