Super Mario Rpg, Paper Mario, Mothers 1-3, not sure if it counts but tower of druaga, not retro but I like undertale just a bit . Maybe Im not the person to ask about them, but I prefer actual gameplay in my ganes, not watching numbers and flashy animations like jangling keys in front of a small child.

I wouldn't say any game in the Final Fantasy series is amazing, but it's a diverse enough franchise that you ought to be able to find at least a few enjoyable games in it unless you just dislike the genre entirely.

Dragon Quest isn't worth bothering with, though.

I don't think anything's given me diarrhea as badly as SNES-era SMT.

IV, V, and VI are the only main line series games I like.

But I also really love the Tactics and Chocobo games.


Though I guess the one thing I really hate about the series is that I made myself beat Final Fantasy VII multiple times in hopes I'd understand how other people like it. But that's my own damned fault, and I just had to accept that it just doesn't gel with me and not to make a big deal about this stuff.

Sounds pretty legit to be honest. There are loads better JRPG franchises out there. It is literally babby's first RPG series. The only above-average game in the series for gameplay or other reasons are:

FFV, FFVI, FFVII, FFIX, FFX-2, FFXII and the XIII games.

In DQ's case, it's VII.
