Agreed. Plus they made the game easy as all hell and slow as fuck. I don't like some of the musical arrangements either.
The original's aesthetics worked in some sense given the whole black, grey, and white (or rather yellow-green) factor of the Phatboy, and could create a sort of balance with the use and absence of monochrome "color". However, trying to 1-1 the sprite placement and being so absolutely disgustingly myfirst3dunitygame as fuck with the visual components in doing so was disgraceful, especially considering the price point.
I don't completely like the way Sword of Mana was handled completely (I don't like brownie brown's character design at all, the magic upgrade system was retarded and I didn't care for the way weapon puzzles were reduced to "hit this stupid ass blob"), but at least they tried to put sincere effort into it that compared to the soulless drek that Adventures of Mana is.
