Never admit you're from /v/ on /vr/. /v/ is hated here.
The comfiest retro game is generally accepted to be Boko No Natsuyasumi: My Summer Holidays, a game that puts you in the role of a 9 year old boy staying with your aunt and uncle in rural Japan during the summer of 1975

You posted this before, I really want to play it. Is it friendly if you don't read japanese at all?
>>3512312
don't worry friend I've no desire to return there

It will be intimidating at first because people talk to you a lot and the game lasts just for the summer break which is 6 weeks iirc. There's not really any way to "lose" though, you just won't find everything there is to do. My suggestion would be to just play it through blind once wander aimlessly through the countryside and little village seeing what you can find to do yourself just literally pretending to be a kid discovering the country life then if you want go back and read a faq then play a second time with an actual agendahint: the deepest part of the game is collecting bugs and having them fight other boys' bugs
