Is the Roland MT-32 the best way to listen our retro games?

I think Sound Blaster sounds better on that Dune example.
I mean, its all quite varied with these old PC games. Even between tracks in the same game, different sound devices sound better than others.

I know, there are games with a different ost just for the roland. I am more used to the soundblaster but honestly, the mt 32 seems to be much better. I wish I had that back in the day.

Some later Soundblasters (such as the one I had) were compatible with Roland. I'd be interested in how, if at all, different they sound.

Sounds like Chrono Trigger, very SNES-like.

Arachno sf2 is not retro.

Makes me wonder if all the music composed for Runescape was on Roland Sound Canvas

Fuck no.
LA synthesis is the most disgusting sound on the planet.
