What are your thoughts on CRT shaders?

That looks awful
some of them look alright, but they all add additional input lag on top of the 2 frames you already get from playing on emulator which defeats the purpose of CRT for most people. playing with a CRT filter for muh nostalgia is retarded.
the one you posted looks like garbage. PS1 outputs RGB natively, PS2 plays PS1 in component video. both of these look way better than that, buy a CRT and a console for like 10 bucks. if that's too much then turn your shitty filter off.
Finally found the right shader file for PS1 games.
Before I had to deal with heavy pixelation or blurry as hell but smooth.
Now I found one that is a good mix between both.

this may be the worst filter I've ever seen, congrats
>>3507042
Then show some good ones faggot.
>>3507036
Wich filter?
It could look better, but it doesn't looks that bad.
>>3507036
Woahhh, cool, this must be exactly how it looked to people when it came out! Cool...
>>3507001
This. It's easier to get a CRT than it is to fiddle around with stupid hipster filters in the first place. I got a working 27" CRT for free because someone left it in front of my apartment building.

[citation needed]
The input lag meme needs to die
>>3507306
>I can't feel it therefore it doesn't exist
>All I play are 20 year old jrpgs so it doesn't matter *turns on crt camcorder filter adding 5 minutes to framebuffer*
it's just a meme guys!!
>>3506980
I think they're fuck ugly, but if it floats your boat then enjoy.
>>3506980
>that dialog
Weak fucking bait.

Provide concrete measurements or shut the fuck up.
Seriously.

No, they don't. Stop making shit up wholecloth. You're just making CRT enthusiasts look bad when you post shit like this.
>>3509063
yes they do don't deny it.
>>3509560
Shaders render to the backbuffer, you're not getting any more lag from that if you have vsync on already.
How about you back up your claim with proof instead of bullshitting?
>>3510463
vsync also causes lag though.
>>3510485
No shit? It's kind of necessary if you don't want tearing and frame_delay can cut most of the lag
I couldn't stand how UN squadron looks unfiltered and started using this.
>>3510558
The most important thing about this post is making me aware that an area 88 video game exists.
That filter doesn't look that bad either but I would have to see the unfiltered gameplay.
>>3511312
It's a cool game, but I hate the mini-missions you have to do to farm money, they got old really fast.
Arcade version is like a completely different game.
>>3510558
Not bad.
>>3506980
Too much chromatic abberation.
