The controller really doesn't bother me the way /vr/ likes to make it out to be. Could be a better designed controller, but once I'm playing a game, I don't even really notice I'm holding the controller fucking weirdly.

How the fuck is that control more comfy than a ps1 for example? I have to move my fucking hand around the control to reach the buttons, and aiming with those fucking yellow buttons sucks balls, like I'm aiming with a old psp or some shit.

It's super small, the prongs/handles/whatever you call them aren't big enough and aren't rounded nicely, the buttons are closer together and you end up hitting one another

The most comfortable controller is the Nintendo Gamecube 1st party.

The most comfortable retro controller is the Sega Dreamcast 1st party.

The N64 controller is definitely underappreciated here. It has 6 face buttons and a great d-pad. It's perfect for fighting games like Killer Instinct Gold. The long cord meant you could actually play from your couch, unlike the Saturn or PSX, without an extension cable. The placement of the memory card slot on the controller became the industry standard for years.

People complain that it didn't have a second analog, but the truth is only a few games for the PSX actually used that. The market was not yet over-saturated with first-person-shooters. It took a while for people to use even one correctly when it came out. Putting two on there would have made learning the controls a chore for gamers.

Actually, the N64 is the only console I have to move onto the coffee table instead of near my TV. The cables are not long at all.

The SNES, PS1 and Saturn all have longer cords.
