Protip: you can't.

I owned both and I got more enjoyment out of the Saturn's library. Dreamcast didn't really have anything that held my attention apart from PSO.
>>
SNES, Mega Drive, Saturn, NES
>>
>>3413232
What did you like more about the Saturn that held your attention?

>those top tier wear-free analogue sticks
>nobody knows about them

It had a 10/10 controller and a solid library
>>
>>3413352
>Dreamcast had a 10/10 controller

holy shit no.

The controller is the biggest weak point of the system.
>>
>>3413357
care to list negative points? I liked it. Maybe another analogue plus trigger would have been great, but it was fine to hold and the d-pad was good
>>

>Playstation
>Genesis/Mega Drive
>NES/FC
>SNES/SFC
>Fuck, even the MS/Mk. III in some aspects.
>N64
etc, etc, etc.
>>
The Dreamcast library was rather anemic all things considered. Most of the good games got rereleases or much improved sequela on better systems.
>>
>>3413362
size sucked. dpad sucked. buttons sucked. triggers were ok. analog stick sucked. vmus sucked.
>>
>>3413362
Not him, but it could've used a redesign that adds a second stick and a few more buttons. Shame that Sega died though.
>>
>>3413362
Only 1 stick, and it's badly placed
Feels light and cheap like the N64 pad
The handles are too narrow, so they aren't comfortable, like for example the GC or XBOX controllers
The top part looks terrible if you don't have a VMU connected
Cable comes out the wrong end
>>
>>3413407
it's like I'm on /v/
The d-pad was good, maybe a bit too stiff, but probably was due to the fact it got never so much use too loosen it up.
>size sucked
ok, you got me, I have baby hands
>analogue stick sucked
ok I am triggered, what's wrong with it?
>>3413415
>>3413407
fair points
>Feels light and cheap like the N64 pad
I think that's just missing rumbles motors, they are very good at weighting pads down since they sit in the handles
>>
Dreamcast will always have a special place in my heart because it was the first time I actually played games online.

Objectively the best controller ever made. You have literally no argument.
>>
>>3413218
I unironically prefer genesis
Old school baby
DC is like a ps2 with less games

I like the stick on this one better, as well as the DPad.
The buttons also feel nicer, and there's 6 of them.
The only major downside is that you can't use both the dpad and the stick at the same time.

My favorite game of all time.
>>
>>3413362
Huge, awful d-pad, only 1 analog, 4 face buttons and 2 shoulder ones plus start. No built-in rumble, and the cord is on the wrong side.

They created the pinnacle non-analog pad on the Saturn, and then they fucked it up in every single way for the Dreamcast.

The only thing stopping Dreamcast from being 10/10 is its lack of Treasure support compared to MD/Saturn.
>>
The DC was underappreciated in her day but I'd say that the MD, SMS, and SS was better.

DC was probably Sega's weakest major home console.
>>
>>3413716
>SMS [...] was better

Eh? But that console was rubbish...
>>
>>3413721
>But that console was rubbish...
Not anymore than the Dreamcast was.
>>
>>3413403
>Fuck, even the MS/Mk. III in some aspects.
Even devout Sega fans disagree bro
>>
Why are people saying DC doesn't have Treasure games? I know shmup fags like to meme about their Ikaruga hateboner so I'm not gonna mention it. But there's also Bangai-O.
>>
>>3414212
Nobody said it didn't have Treasure games, but it's a fact that it has less Treasure games than the Megadrive (six games) or Saturn (three games). All it got was an N64 port and Ikaruga. Hell, even the N64 got more Treasure.
>>
>>3414229

Yeah that's true.

Still more than the PS1 though.
>>
>>3414235
Yeah, Treasure never really cared for Sony much, which is why I think that's the source of the shitposting: mad Sony fanboys jealous of Sega and NIntendo getting Treasure games.
>>
>>3413250

A steady stream - right through the machine's lifecycle - of "Triple A" 3D and 2D arcade ports, totally original and unique Sega console titles like Nights and Panzer Dragoon, excellent ports /crossplatform titles like Bomberman (TEN PLAYER!!!) Quake, Duke Nukem 3D (with EIGHT PLAYER DEATH TANK!!) plus odd gems like Guardian Heroes, Dragon Force, Dark Saviour etc

And the key thing is, as I said at the start of my post, these games came in a *steady stream*, there was always something new to look forward to, right up until the machines last dying days owners still got rewarded with shit like Fighters Megamix and Burning Rangers.

Despite the console's (and the company's) commercial failure I think Sega actually peaked during the Saturn's lifespan. AM2, AM3 and Sonic Team were making amazing games in their own style.

Dreamcast? Can't remember much about it apart from being massively underwhelmed with Sonic 3D and VF3. As I said before, PSO was the only thing that really held my attention - and it was probably Sonic Team's last great game.
>>
>>3414710
>Sonic Adventure, VF3 and PSO

No wonder you don't care much for Dreamcast, you missed out on playing all the great games.
>>
>>3413357
100% agree, really uncomfortable and a crappy dad and stick
>>
Why are Dreamcast consoles relatively so cheap? I see them all the time for $30-50 including extra controllers and games.
>>
>>3415856
Because they sold relatively well but aren't as in demand as something like a super nintendo, I suppose.
>>
>>3415809
>crappy dad
right in the feels
>>
>>3415809
The dreamcast is an excellent dad anon, I wish the dreamcast was my dad; the dreamcast would never beat me.
>>
>>3415904
If the dreamcast was your dad you'll be orphan at 4 though.
>>
Did SEGA plant a spiral of blue trees in a forest as a promotion for the Dreamcast or did I Dream that?
