There exists a Super Mario World romhack in which Mario is placed in H.P. Lovecraft's Call of Cthulhu.

I would like to play this on a flashcart, but I'm afraid this hack will damage the GBC.

Would ROM hacks work on an Everdrive so you can play them on the actual console?

Man, the story of this hack's creation is so sad. The guy did an amazing hack out of pure love for his girlfriend, but like two months later she broke up with him, so he asked for the hack to be removed everywhere, yet people still have copies of it and are distributing them left and right.

I feel so bad for him.

Depends on hacks and system. Older SNES ones won't because of hacky sound bullshit and N64 emulation is garbage so a lot of them probably won't.

Sometimes, ROM hacks or homebrew tend to work better (or at all) on emulators because they're both running on the same body of knowledge of how things should in theory work. Also an emulator is generally focused on compatibility and trying to get everything to run, it's won't be too worried about checking if an actual N64 could do it, it'll just try to do it. I think there's some kind of irony about making a hack for an old console and it can't even run on it.

The only sad thing there is how pathetic he is to even care about it. She broke up with him? Good; cry for a night, go after another girl the next day. One has to be incredibly immature to try to take down every link of a romhack just because a girl left him.
