What makes you using cheat codes, Nintendo Power, strategy guides, Game Genie/Game Shark, and tip hotlines, etc. to beat a game as a kid more legitimate and noble than some kid nowadays using GameFAQs or save states to beat the same game? Using outside help to win and sharing that help was a core part of old school gaming culture, but why is it shameful now? I'm pretty sure you didn't beat the shit out of all the kids at the playground who shared tips with each other, right?
I hope this is the right thread, how to beat Dodongo in Legend of Zelda (the triceratops)? The old man said that he doesn't like smoke.

Blow some smoke from your vape in his face.

Start a fire with the blue candle (use 3 times in the boss room) and the dodongo will develop lung cancer and die in 40 years.

It isn't more noble. That being said, OP reeks of some kid getting buttblasted.

Bombs.
