hey /vr/. i'm trying to get the english fan translation of mother 1 to patch into trashman's m1 + m2 gba rom. I've already tried running it with the 1+2 ips file and text document from both compressed and uncompressed files, and the game (the actual game, not just the naming screen) still comes out in japanese. advice for someone who still can't into emu setups that well?
I'm using visualboy advance and i'm on shitdows 10

I used to play Mother 1+2 on my DS/GBA flashcart because IIRC NESDS didn't emulate it or something like that (it's kinda hazy anyway)
I think the only thing 1+2 did better was that it used L button or something like that
