Is the process for replacing a GB/GBC save battery similar to replacing a GBA save battery? I've a Pokemon Gold and an SMB Deluxe cart which both need new batteries, is it just go in, take the old one out, shove the old one in, or is there something more to it?
just get some replacement batteries with tabs already on them, desolder the old one, and solder the new one in place. pretty easy overall.
Don't buy chinese bulk shit. Go with Maxell, Panasonic, etc
Use a proper soldering iron.
Be a retard and get retarded results. Like the battery leaking/blowing.

I just threw it in there with tape to hold it in the right spot and let the force of the cartridge halves hold it all together.
Lazy and shitty but it seems to work fine. No more lost saves, and I subjected it to plenty of bumps and drops and clatters without any issues. Lastly I used a sony battery, no china here. I think we'll be juuuuuuuuust fine.

How the fuck would you manage this? I have never heard of this happening. The tabs are way to the side.
Do retards explode caps when soldering too?
