Is there a company that actually specializes is saving and refurbishing old broken game consoles instead of lying about saving them and scrapping them for their IC chips, gold plated parts and silver contacts?

Socialist countries used very much gold, so after dissolution of the Soviet block old computers were entirely scrapped.

I do. Not on a massive scale but I've salvaged and repaired a few hundred consoles so far.
