Hey I remember awhile ago a /vr/ anon put together a really nice, well organized site full of ROMs, what was its name?
theromdepot
last i know it disappeared
>>3316665
underground-gamer.com
>>3316674
Some turbo-autist on /vr/ got pissed off at the guy that made that site for some reason and dogged him in every thread he made. Eventually he hacked or DDOS'd theromdepot not sure which.
>>3316684
This is why /vr/ can't have nice things.
>>3316684
Jesus I figured it was from copyright holders or some shit. What an asshole, that site was great.
Well I know ROMs are super easy to find, but what is the site you all prefer? something clean like theromdepot
>>3316817
the web archive hosts rom collections for up to 5th gen i believe
just get those, only a few gigabytes via torrent and youre set for life
>>3316910
Where do I find them? I can find the individual games but not a big file with everything.
>>3316968
Search "goodset"
Goodset means complete collection.
>>3316968
How? You google "no intro internet archive" and the first result has the torrent.
>>3317026
That's a very specific string of text, anon. You're surprised someone doesn't know it?
>>3316968
the term escaped me for a minute there, they are called ROMsets fullsets etc
one such is the GoodSNES
http://www.emuparadise.me/Complete_ROM_Sets_(Full_Sets_in_One_File)_ROMs/37
as for "the web archive" its http://archive.org in case you never heard of it it archives sites, media and software.
as for ROM sets at the archive, its a little messy, their cataloging, search, and interface is a total and utter mess
if you browse you the software library you get to
https://archive.org/details/vintagesoftware
https://archive.org/details/consolelivingroom
or even searching by nintendo you wont find SNES, only Nes and others
if you search by "roms"
https://archive.org/search.php?query=subject%3A%22ROMS%22
you eventually bump into an entry classified as text
https://archive.org/details/NintendoSuperNintendoEntertainmentSystem
but when viewing ALL FILES you can see a 3GB zip for super nes
... but i digress check here
https://archive.org/details/No-Intro-Collection_2016-01-03_Fixed
some 30GB of nearly every major console up to 4th gen
>>3317006
What's wrong with goodset? Do you like playing bad dumps or dupes?
>>3317073
goodset IS bad roms and dupes
>>3317056
Don't those sets also have literally every single dump of a game, including dumps that do not function, a bajillion variants that are ultimately identical, and more dupes than the Diablo 2 economy?
>>3317565
nononon
its the opposite actually, well at least the last one i linked
https://archive.org/details/No-Intro-Collection_2016-01-03_Fixed
the "no-intro" means, no introduction screen from the pirateers, and also no addition of any sort, which also means no hacks of fixes, or fan translation, its the catalog of all games ever released in all languages it was released, nothing more nothing less.
there are sets that are like you mention, and with no-intro one might still want to hand pick some other versions that include fixes and translation on a case by case basis, but hardly for an entire library
is that what GoodSnes is? i wonder if thats the best version of each game, but with fixes where needed for instance
Friends, where can I find all the latest Good"..." sets for Mame and pc engine?
>>3316665
Emuparadise works just fine unless you want final fantasies.
>>3316817
emu-russia
Gives an OMGVIRUS warning on Chrome at least, but it has all ROMs on neat 7z packages that include all known verified good dumps, all versions and if hacks/trainers exist for that particular game, those too.

It wasn't a nice thing
