You start with the lightsaber. The issue is the cave levels are giant mazes with insta-deaths, and the eels that electrify all the water. Then you have the Wampas that freeze you and have huge knock back, and most enemies have huge amounts of health. I feel some of the later levels are easier than the early ones.

The Super Star Wars games don't have ridiculous difficulty because the creators intended it, they just have fucking horrendous controls and awful level design. I like to imagine how incredibly good these games would be if a Japanese developer had made them.

It's mostly memorization - and also - NEVER STOP MOVING. Enemies respawn like crazy. Every time I go to visit my parents, there's still a hole in my bedroom wall from the time I punched it playing Super Empire Strikes Back.

SRotJ is the only one of the three I can beat. All three games are retardedly hard though, and I think SESB is the hardest of the three.
