When someone externalizes their problems or why they aren't successful, it's clear they aren't mature enough to be an artist.

Dude also seems to care way too much about his image judging by the stupid shirts he wears and his fear of going bald, another red flag.

If he knew anything about scope (one of the most important aspects of game design), he would have just made the game in Unity for computer and smart phones and it would have taken 6 months max. After that he could have ported it to Dreamcast (or paid someone to do so), but because his game is pretty generic, I think he knew the Dreamcast gimmick was necessary to get publicity and funding.
