only partially, it has times when you should be point blanking and times when you need to fall back

Mushi Futari Black Label in Original Mode really is point blanking: the game, but it's not retro

Raiden's vulcan spread up close is stronger than blue or purple lasers.

Thunder Cross 2 is OK. Somewhat of a Gradius clone. The dual forward and reverse laser is the best weapon.
