Anyone have any experience storing video games in an attic? Had to move recently and lost a bunch of space. Was able to store some things at my sisters, but only in the attic. It gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Storing my snes and 64 and games amongst other things. Have the games and consoles in rubbermaid containers. Will they get damaged after so much time? Anyone store their games in an attic for a long period of time? Not ready to get rid of them yet.

Het is super bad for electronics bro. You're looking at serious stress on electrolytic capacitors, warped discs, brittle plastics...
>>
I live in the northwest. It's probably gonna be about 100 at the hottest during the hottest days of the summer. You think it's still too hot?
>>
I know it's not the greatest place to store them but just was hoping someone else had any experience storing them in similar places.

I live in alaska and some of my stuff was in an outdoor shed for almost 10 years cycling 80+ to -40 f and it works fine

Thanks I figure they will be ok but I'm just paranoid knowing how much they're worth these days. Anyone else have similar stories good or bad?

humidity and condensation is your biggest enemy, I would consider Silica to keep them dry.

here is a pic of as found dudty as hell items.

the SB controller, 3do and xbox all have 50 hours or close to with no signs of damage, just had to clean everything up. you can always rent a small climate controlled storage if you aren't in the 3rd world

That's the thing is it never gets to humid where I'm from. I have all the games in plastic storage bins. As well as the consoles.

And that attic is like an oven, meaning it could easily become 130 or maybe even hotter in there.

I stored a couple n64s, 2 snes and a master systen for like 5 years and they worked fine, I was a lot younger and the effects on electronics kinda flew over my head..

I wouldn't do it these days obviously, hopefully I can build a neckbeard cave when I get my first house.. currently I just have a corner of my room devoted to a massive pile of retro shit my girlfriend constantly bitches about because she could put another fucking lamp there or something

>another fucking lamp there or something
Shit taste in decor. Your GF should think of something better or more useful to stick in a corner than another lamp if there's already one in the room.

The only women that still wear leopard print bras are cougars. I bet it's his mom

Naw, the one night stands I had usually have some sort of leopard print or tattoos involved.

>girls with colored hair
>girls that smoke
>girls with tattoos
>girls that wear leopard print

tend to be fun loving skanks. so long as you aren't boring and look cool you're made in the shade.
