It sounds like it'd be a good idea if it didn't require you to solder...and it supported more than 32gb.

Still a bit too expensive in my opinion especially if certain games don't work.

This alone SLIGHTLY favors burning discs, now factor in the price tag. The only definitive positive bar none for PSIO that I can think of is virtual memory cards which is very useful.

Yeah, OP here, anyway.

This is why I wanted to ask about the unit here, because burning CDs now is totally fucking ass-backwards when we have microSD chips that can literally hold 45:1 worth of games on a single 32GB vs a single CD, and I'd much rather multiple tiny microSDs than multiple CDs...

Also, reading replies, it seems that the unit is good, but not "there" yet, in comparison to modchips, and also to others (ex. EverDrive).

It basically interrupts the data streaming from the drive, the soldering required is pretty minimal and basically allows you to stream data from the parallel port. It's native code on native hardware. There is technically "emulation" but not any more than a flashcart.

Probably from how the way the board is laid out it causes minor timing issues that breaks some PS1 games.
