I've spent more time than I'd like with this chicken, I no longer believe. It's probably a combination of the already weird ass timing + any sort of lag introduced by emulating.

IIRC the hit detection is a little off in the first PTR but Um Jammer Lammy always felt a little bit easier to me and I liked the songs better. Try that one.

I don't know what the fuck is up with the timing in PTR. I can triple A stuff in Stepmania and some PTR songs took me like six tries.

The timing is fucked up on emulators. In games that need precise button presses, it's better to play on the real console.
IIRC, Bust-a-Groove 1 and 2 suffer from the same issue.
