It's definitely something alright, although if you haven't played the games or have zero appreciation for LA you wouldn't actually care.

This board is populated by teenagers who are fans of emulated console games.
Thats pretty fucking neato.
Shame the SCUMM design docs are not uploaded yet.
So far none of the "cool" documents are posted. Neat that he's doing it, and that he's allowed to do this. That's Library-of-Congress-level material.
Posting design documents also helps amateurs to get a better idea on how to design a game, beyond fiddling with demoscene hacks and being an idea guy (which is very different from a designer).
I know SSI did something similar in the past, and while not documents, EA released the SimCity source under some conditions. What other companies are releasing their production documents/materials?
>Charlie always had an affinity for dragons. He used to attend the Renaissance Faire as a dragon. His hood ornament was a dragon. The main character was Dr. Agon. See the theme here?
I bet Charlie considered himself a scaley.

For me that Mutiny on Monkey Island document was nothing more than mind blowing, and I kinda want to play it. Makes for good MMORPG stuff in my opinion.
>not SCUMM
Meh. Not that exciting.

What do you mean not SCUMM? Basically the majority of those designes are SCUMM games, and he's not only uploading the internal manual for the language, but even getting a GitHub for preserving the actual source code.
