I've recently acquired a Sony PVM 1350, but I've noticed the RGB slots on the back only say RGB and not RGB/Component. Can I still use Component cables?

You'll need BNC dawg.
>>3054362
I've got BNC to RCA adapters. I get great picture, but there's a green tint.
>>3054371
Adjust the nobs on the front.
You get RGB via a BNC adapter cable.
>>3054372
Still green.
I've got component cables plugged in.
>>3054353
Why the fuck do you want to use Component if you can use RGB?
>>3054374
>I've got component cables plugged in.
Component is YPbPr, not RGB.
Get RGB cables.

What's a good price range for me to aim with a PVM?
You should have asked this in the CRT thread. You're going to get bad info this way.
Y/Pb/Pr is component. On PVMs it's referred to internally as "color stream". Switch the display into color stream mode.
Theyre lying to you anon
if it doesnt say rgb/component it cant take component
you have to go scart to bnc or s-video or the image will be green
crt makes me puke with their misinformation
>>3054380
Because I'm using the component cables for a ps2 at the moment.
>>3054414
Thank you. That's all I wanted to know.

Except he's wrong. "Component" is a consumer term. Your display will absolutely work with your component cables, it's just referred to as Y/Pb/Pr on your inputs and "Color Stream" in your controls.
If it doesn't say Y/Pb/Pr over the ports it doesn't do component. I have an old PVM rotting in my basement that can't do component.

Only Toshiba used the term color stream for component; PVMs will refer to it as Component or Comp.
I believe for the **40 and **50 series sets, they have to be either the 43/44 or 53/54 in order to support YPbPr, and it would be written right next to said inputs that it would infact support it. Specifcally "RGB/Component"
That specific model doesn't support Component/YPbPr; Unless you feel like getting a transcoder that will turn Component back to RGB, it's best to just stuck with RGB where you can, and I suppose S-Video otherwise.

How do I avoid a green screen?
>>3054510
Use Scart -> BNC.
>>3054438
you. are. retarded.
