>runs at correct speed
>link port
>you can see thru it!!
>>
regular clear plastic would have been awesome.
instead it looks like shit with blue.
>>
>Doesn't work in American SNES consoles.
>Looks like shit.
>Link port? C'mon son... are you ever gonna hook up 2 of these together in your life? Stop acting shilly.

I don't understand why so many Nintendo things were ugly transparent plastic. Or maybe I'm just jealous I never got one of these.
>>
>>2867162
>ugly transparent plastic

welcome to the mid to late 90's
>>
>>2867159
>real pros got an SFC or a beater SNES with the tabs cut out
>looks like the objectively better hardware revision
>beep boop what are friends?

dont hate on the 90s.

everyone had that shit. And we loved it.
>>
>>2867212
what was cool about those transparent phones, was some of them had a light in them and it would flash up before actually ringing. so if you were trying to get late night calls from your friends on the down low your parents would never know.
>>
>>2867159
You mean it doesn't support 4 player links? What a useless piece of shit.
>>
>>2867291
it totally supports 4 player links and will hook up any combination of sgb2 and handheld. OP is just an idiot
>>
>>2867291
>>2867295
16 player Faceball 2000! That's a lot of carts/sgb2/snes/tvs
>>
>>2867295
>>2867312
No, you nigger, what they are trying to say is that you can use a regular gameboy and the SGB2 with the link cable. It would have been nice as fuck even to just transfer pokemans or w/e the stupid link cable could do by yourself.
>>
>>2867328
wait wait wait, maybe i'm not getting it because all these posts are written so terribly, are you guys saying the sgb2 and old grey game boy are incompatible because the link ports are different? you do realize there are adapters to go between old and new-style link ports, right?
>>
>>2867162
>Or maybe I'm just jealous I never got one of these.

that's exactly what it is, you colossal ass-backwards faggot.
>>
>>2867374
No, we're trying to say they ARE compatible.
>>
>>2867235
>having friends
Look at this fucking loser!
>>
>>2867081
>being too much of a pleb to mod a super game boy with an oscillator to get the speed right
>>
what are the implications of the SGB2 Link Port in regards to homebrew/piracy?
>>
>>2867575
There are none. Unless you want to play a game that uses the link port.
>>
>>2867453
>not having friends in the swinging 90's

feel bad for you man.

I certainly didn't mind the games running slightly faster on the original SGB. It would be an issue if it was slightly slower, but slightly faster I don't mind.
>>
>>2867703

it seems like more people are bothered about the audio being faster... that being what makes it more notable i guess.
>>
>>2867697
>swinging 90's
the only people that use phrases like this are people that didn't live through the era. no one fucking talked like that.
>>
>>2868068
You're right.
I grew up in the 60's
>>
>>2867081
>laffo

Takes me back to PSO. I started that shit.
>>
>>2867212

speak for yourself. I hated that shit in the 90's and I hate it now..., always thought that stuff was for teenage girls.
>>
>>2867212
That transparent plastic apple newton gavee a retro tech boner.
>>
>>2867081
Nice Game Boy Light. Mine was bought super cheap at a flea market, and is scuffed a bit.

Most 90s Apple prototypes were clear like that, they never actually released anything in that color though.
>>
>>2867212
I liked it on the Gameboy Color.

>>2868294
Shame the Apple Newton was overpriced garbage.

Is there any way to emulate a Super Gameboy on the Wii?
>>
>>2868781

you mean emulate Gameboy on wii?

super gameboy is actual gameboy hardware in the device. not emulation.
>>
>>2867453
back to your containment board faggot
>>
>>2868806
Your post doesn't make any sense man
>>
>>2867235
you just made me nostalgia out remembering slipping in to my parents room each evening to turn of their phones ringer and then taking the cordless phone to my room and turning the ringer to the lowest volume. being an adult and just being able to do anything you want is just another set of limitations.

I had a transparent gameboy pocket. I loved its "ugliness".
>>
>>2868819
vince vaughn has always had an immensely punchable face
>>
>>2868316
Ayyy. Is that even covered by warranty?
>>
>>2868806
No, I mean emulate the Super Gameboy. There are Gameboy emulators, but they all have visual artifacts because the Wii's video modes don't align with the Gameboy's resolution. I'd rather play with the Super Gameboy's borders and no visual artifacts.
>>
>>2867162

Guy you're replying too. I grew up in the 90's too but I still think it's ugly. I don't have transparent rose tinted glasses. I don't understand why it was popular.

Fuck me though I'm a hypocrite and I loved my Digivice.

He means the extras like on-console multiplayer and screen borders and new colors/sounds.
>>
>>2868316
clear lites look great with red buttons and borders, kinda like a Famitsu GB pocket.

I still prefer them silver and black, styled after the OG DS.
>>
>>2868817

you're just too young to understand "adult gamer language" apparently...
>>
>>2868831

You're a goddamn idiot. Next time, just think about what you're asking and then just ask google instead of making an ass out of yourself.

Nintendo seems to love copying Apple's hardware's look.

Of course, lots of hardware makers at the time jumped on the iMac candy- and jewel-tone plastic bandwagon. But then Apple launched the iBook, a low-end portable computer, in two varieties: Silvery-white with translucent orange, and silvery-white with translucent blue. Not too long after that, Nintendo unveiled its new portable console, the Game Boy Advance, in two varieties (neither of which ultimately shipped): Silvery-white with translucent orange, and silvery-white with translucent blue.

Then Apple released a computer shaped like a tiny, compact cube which was followed soon after by Nintendo's next console, which took the form of a tiny, compact cube.

Then there was the all-white iBook G4 to which the original DS Lite bears a remarkable resemblance. Not just in terms of the colors and lines, but also the very specific and rather unique construction they shared: Sleek white plastic laminated to a thin transparent polycarbonate shell that lent the devices both extra durability and a sort of gentle luminosity.

Well done anon. Never knew this existed. I enjoy learning things 15-20 years too late.
>>
Megaman II is absolutely unplayable on Super Gameboy because of how sped up and distorted the music gets, it's annoying as hell.

Thankfully I have a GB Player on my Gamecube with a PS1 controller adapter for all my GB-on-TV needs.
>>
>>2867081
>not portable
>needed to buy a $120 console to use
>cost $50
>not even a game
>need an adapter for NTSC consoles
>doesn't play Game Boy Color games

Sorry to hear it, bud. My parents got me a Game Boy Color. Guess I was one of the lucky ones.
>>
>>2868316
I did this with my DS lite. I really liked it for a time, but eventually I realized that the plastic felt really cheap in comparison to the official shell.
Of course it didn't help that the DS lites had a design flaw that caused the hinge to snap after opening and closing it too many times, so replacement housings were almost a necessity.

Keep this shit on /b/. We are a classier group.

Oh man, can you not handle someone having an opinion contrary to yours. We got the kids on xmas break here folks.
>>

>I don't understand why so many Nintendo things were ugly transparent plastic.

Because it was awesome. I love being able to see the innards of game consoles without having to take off the case.
>>
>>2872623
gb megaman II is awful game anyway.
>>

We are faggot. Classy enough to call people names like niggers without getting our underage panties in a PC twist. Maybe you should stick to tumblr.
