wtf is it true emulators all have a delay when you press buttons? r u shitting me

No. Emulators don't have a delay, your USB controller does regardless of what program you use it with.
Better bust out the Gravis Gamepad, bruv.

Use RetroArch with KMS, or with GPU hard sync 0.

Try playing Punch Out. Tyson is literally impossible with slow hardware or badly configured emulators.
Actually, this is an issue in rhythm games. I haven't looked into it since 2012, but I remember that games like Parappa, Bust-a-Move (the dance game, not the one with the bubbles) and Um Jammer Lammy had some trouble with button presses, even in "officially emulated" versions, like PSN and stuff.
I also remember that when I bought my dance pad (those things you use to play DDR), the seller told me to not use it in PSX emulated games. Maybe it has changed since then.

you need the right plugins and the bios IIRC. I downloaded a pack of all the things on piratebay, worked great. Not all games worked for some reason though
