Total annihilation general
Do people still play this or its mods? And how fun is setting the game to no nukes no air units?

I used to play this game solely for a Star Wars mod. Great game, and I was never even an RTS fan.
One of my favourite games of all time. Makes me sad that the thread isn't getting more love. It's been a while but I still revisit it every now and then. The "spiritual successors" just don't have the same character in my eyes. Maybe it's just nostalgia though.

/vr/ is slow enough that some people will chime in when they see the thread.
@OP: post some links, talk about the mods, show us why we should love the game. It still has an active mp/modding community, right?
tfw i'm absolute shit and always get my ass stomped in Balanced Annihilation, Tech Annihilation, NOTA, and Zero-K.
Still fun though.

yeah planetary annihilation is garbage. apparently forge alliance in SUPCOM1 was amazing but im not seeing it. nothing had that low poly models turning into wreckage battle of attrition feel

Escalation is still recently updated iirc. Anyone try that mod? It looked like the only fun one besides vanilla.
I only started playing it last year because I was craving something similar to C&C. As soon as I heard the first song and instantly recognized it as being Jeremy Soule, I knew I was in for a good fucking game. Need to jump back into it again when I get some time.

my favorite thing about total annihilation is that everyone's a robot so i don't have to hear shitty jokes when i click on my units
Love TA. Supcom forged alliance is ok. I have actually reinstalled ta from gog few days ago and I am playing with latest escalation mod. At the moment i am geoing through a phase when i set the highest diff and do 9 cpu vs me to see how long i can survive. At the moment the record is 30 min ;)

I still play on a consistent basis with a couple of friends. Typically play TA works project, but if there are any other worthwhile mods, let me know
Loved SupCom FA
fuckin hated SupCom 2
I liked the tower defense with long shooting towers
Nice base you got there, senpai.
Loved this game. Rarely got to play it with other people, though. I only ever played the basic version that came with the CD, and I hear that there were a ton of free downloadable units.
What's the best way to play this on a modern PC?

escalation is very popular and balanced and played 'semi-competitively' to this day
