Gale of Darkness question. Is Mt. Battle and Orre Colosseum the only battle related postgame content in the game? Colosseum had few Colosseums, Snagem Hideout, Mt. Battle and several additional battles in old areas.

One can argue that it's worse in RBY since it doesn't get good STAB until you get to Cinnabar Island. It has to rely on attacks like Body Slam and Hyper Beam for a long time. It still gets the job done because 130 base attack is insane.
In FRLG, if you are willing to grind coins in Game Corner, you can get Flareon on 25lv with Flamethrower, Dig and Shadow Ball in Celadon. It's a pretty good coverage considering the overabundance of poison and psychic types in Kanto. Also, addition of Overheat greatly helps.
Don't trust people who go "it's shit because of special split". 15 SpA difference is negligible if you don't have moves to back it up.
