It's purely something to use in game. Pikachu isn't even PU with a Light Ball. Doesn't help that Hatchu is locked to a neutral nature.

With light ball its a good suicide bomber with volt tackle. With the z crystal its a good nuker then fucking useless after your 1 decent attack. It has just enough speed to be able to go first like 75% of the time.

Seriously, slightly better attacking power than LO Raichu in exchange for significant speed drop and even more frailty, Light Orb Pikachu is just bad. Attacking Raichu is bad, it's only good for Fake Out, Para and Encore support in doubles.
