I've found enough full odds shinies in Gen 5 and below that I don't care.

Heatran in Platinum
Pidove in Black
Gothorita in Black 2
And while I was gathering a living dex so I could even get the shiny charm, I found Burmy and Sentret the same night in Y. I don't think full odds in Gen 6+ really matters.
