Bold claim, I'd say Emerald and HGSS's Frontier offer more than the PWT, the side content was actually nice, and true rematches exist in both. Outside of PWT, all BW2 has is Yancy (hardly worth mentioning), revisiting BW1 locations that were blocked off for no reason other than to railroad you, Medals (achievements are cancer) and Pokestars, the only actually interesting onealthough easy due to everything being instawin through rentals and the right choice being blatantly obvious.

HGSS and BW2 are the games that I would consider the pinnacle of what Pokemon has to offer (except BW had better story but eh), so I have a hard time establishing which one is better. I think you might be right about the worth of the Battle Frontier, but it's hard to ignore just how much fun all of the content in BW2 is.

The problem with GSC Kanto wasn't cart space, it was time. Even if they couldn't get the data to fit on the 512kb cart for Japanese Gold and Silver, Crystal had 2MB of data in all regions. ROMhacks have proven that they could have fit so much more shit into the game than they did, but GS already had one of the longest development cycles of all games in the series and they didn't want to delay it again.

Slot machines are literally RNG with no player input. People have proven this with TAS, your inputs don't matter. Voltorb Flip is still partially luck-based but has much more player input and solveability than slots.
Also the Japanese version of HGSS did have slots. I'm still waiting on a ROMhack that restores slots in the western version while still having Voltorb Flip, but nobody wants to hack HGSS so it'll be a long wait.
