Ironically, SM seemed to have a good reveal/ secret ratio up until the demo datamine.

It's impossible to please large fanbases. There are too many people and too many opinions to have one idea unify everybody.

Having a middle ground is at least a good compromise, because you're drumming up hype and giving people incentives to get the game, while not taking away the chance for them to discover things in the game on their own.
