Why do people complain about the lack of new Pokemon in gen 6

I don't give a fuck about new Pokemons at this point, I would rather have extreme graphical and stats update for all mons in gen8 plus actual postgame

As far as the developers and the game itself are concerned, they are new Pokemon. Your arbritrary definitions are irrelevant.

At NO point, and I mean literally NO POINT, did Gamefreak ever advertise Deoxys Speed form or Rotom's new forms as "New Pokemon." They never did that with Mega Pokemon or Alolan Pokemon either.

I'm not the one being arbitrary with this definition.

Read the OP. Spinda's patterns are generated via its PID. They don't store a sprite of all 8 billion possible patterns.

They CONSIDER it to be something new; it's not a "NEW" Pokemon. It's a new FORM.

I don't personally consider Megas and Alolan forms to be new Pokemon (I go by the new dex number rule), but I understand and accept that Gamefreak does.

I know that sounds backwards, but I suppose while they're technically new Pokemon, I just don't really view them as such.

The term "form" and "Pokemon" aren't mutually exclusive. Why should a form change be considered a new Pokemon when an evolution is not? It's still the same Pokemon, it just looks different and has different stats.

Different Pokemon

The only difference is the ability, which is a single attribute in the Pokemon's data. Although the different forms of Zygarde are different Pokemon and Ashninja is its own Pokemon.

Core and Meteor forms are different Pokemon, the other is just a cosmetic difference. It's no different from a gender difference. No additional space is required other than the model, every other attribute of that Pokemon points to the same area of code.

Those utilise the same Pokemon data but just increase the size of the model. Then the game applies the same stat boost that an X item would. It doesn't take any additional space.
