They were extremely detailed to be just another "fake" leak now I'm not saying I looked once at them and said "yep they are real" but I definitely kept an open mind about it which is not something you can say about the guy you are trying to defend

I complained about them revealing too much about SM before release, and again for them not showing nearly enough about USUM, and a friend of mine said I'll "never be pleased". Thing is though, SM was brand new, whereas with this they've been suspiciously fucking quiet about how it's actually different from its predecessors. I still need to be convinced that this isn't going to be the laziest "3rd version" in all of pokemon up to now. Keep in mind too, I'm usually really lax about letting GF get away with shit since Pokemon is usually fun regardless of its flaws, but this whole prerelease period for USUM has not sit right with me at all.

Joe is right (in this one example), you're all being extremely negative just because we don't have news. I actually prefer it this way. If there were a lot of reveals the game feels spoiled and very little is left for surprise. This exact situation happened with SM. The issue here is that the video game community feels entitled to having all the information beforehand.

I think they should aim for representative reveals.

for example - they add ~20ish alolan forms? great. show one or two. that's enough to prove you've put them in, without spoiling them all.

got a battle facility? great. you don't need to show it all off, you can just have a single shot, perhaps some npc doing a "welcome to the battle frontier/PWT/etc" line.

the areas bit has been handled a little better, but given the island nature of SM, it's a lot harder to picture where new stuff will be.

I got more replay value collecting all the clothes, doing gym leader rematches in the battle chataeu, exploring some of the more obscure parts of lumiose city, and finding stuff in the friend safari than anything in ORAS.
