>second player is another character that follows you around using the other Joy-con and can use their Assist Pokémon in battle with you as a one-time assist at any point, not turn-dependent, that can help secure a KO or sneak one in when your opponent is otherwise safe
>second player starts with Pikachu and cannot control their character normally, only selecting which Assist mon they'll have ready
>they unlock shillmons such as Lucario, Charizard, Greninja, and Mimikyu
>gyms/trials are replaced by minigame-style facilities, like a kart racing game or a dart throwing game
>focus is put on the minigames and so the main game, story, Pokémon, etc all suffer
>minigames are in the style of 1-2 Switch! still and are somehow worse
>you can't even revisit facilities because GF thinks people are too occupied with smartphones to want to replay them
>share button is required for progression at certain points
>cannot play in handheld or tabletop mode except for certain minigames
>amierefresh bonuses still not able to be turned off
>Pokémon sizes in battle still inaccurate
>Pokémon still can't evolve mid-battle
>cutscenes still unskippable/unpausable
>graphics barely better than 3ds
>still no free camera control
