I work for one and we've had one person put out a game in less than 2 months before.

Only thing they had help with was some of us in customer support testing their Alpha (which thanks to me and one other was able to skip straight to full release without even a beta etc. because we were so thorough in our documentation of what was fucking up).

Now, it wasn't 3D modeled (though that wouldn't have made it take much longer) but it was more fun and had more content than S/M.

which is why I'm so damn annoyed with their shit. One person on an indie company can do it so Game Freak with the billions available most certainly can do better, they just admittedly try not to.
