Grass types also get tons of support moves like the Powders, Spore, Leech Seed, Synthesis, Growth, etc. When you put Grass on a mon that can get support moves out quickly (Prankster Whimsicott), or pair it with an actually good defensive type (Ferrothorn), then Grass becomes a serious advantage.

You forgot to add it's also the only type to resist Water while being able hit them back super effectively.

Grass in general has a pretty fantastic coverage despite being resisted by lots of things, and Grass support moves (Leech Seed, Sleep Powder/Spore, Rage Powder) are some of the most powerful in the game.
